Bengal Youth Awards 2013 held in Kolkata

Recently a huge gathering of people were noticed standing in front of The G.D. Birla Sabhaghar waiting for the gates to open to let the crowd pour into the auditorium. The reason for such a huge footfall was the Bengal Youth Awards 2013. The award was started in the year 2010 and this is the fourth year of the award ceremony. The Bengal Youth Awards is one of the most recognized award functions in the city of Kolkata.

Kolkata, June 18 (Washington Bangla Radio): The sudden death of noted Bengali film maker Rituparno Ghosh has left a huge void in the Film Industry of not only Bengal but also that of India. The director who shot to fame with a film for children named “Hirer Angti” was the winner of twelve national and many other international awards. In memory of the legendary director Rituparno Ghosh, a photography exhibition named “A Tribute to Rituparno Ghosh” was organized by two budding photographers named Pratap and Dipanjan. Present at the inaugural ceremony was director and well known journalist Rhitobrata Bhattacharya, actor Prateek, Mouboni Sorcar, eminent painter Wasim Kapoor, Sukalyan Bhattacharya, Sudipta Chakraborty, Pilu Bhattacharya and  Rituparna Sengupta.
