INTERFACE is a platform for the talented and versatile performers of alternative and contemporary art forms to showcase their creativity and a chance to interact and learn from artists across the globe. This year Kolkata is experiencing a cross cultural and interdisciplinary performances as performers are coming from countries like Taiwan, Israel and Australia apart from Indian performers.

Kolkata September 27, 2012 (Washington Bangla Radio / Penning Creations) The Mitali Padatik Talent search contest on Rabindra Sangeet - "কণিকা স্মরণে রবীন্দ্র সংগীতে নুতন প্রতিভার সন্ধান" - commenced on the 26th of September. The first preliminary round of this competition was held in the Satyajit Ray Auditorium at the Rabindranath Tagore Centre, ICCR in Kolkata. It will now have a second preliminary and a final round followed by a celebration event that will mark an end to this unique show.

Washington Bangla Radio is proud to be associated with the innovative initiative to identify and encourage young Rabindrasangeet singers.

This contest is being held to celebrate the 88th Birth Anniversary of Kanika Bandhopadhyay, a renowned singer of Rabindra Sangeet. In her memory, this contest is organized by Mitali, an Indo Bangladesh Cultural Society and Padatik of Bangladesh. Working for a long period of time both these societies aims to promote exchange of culture and tradition between the countries and establish harmony between them.
