In directing Tintoretor Jishu (Tintoretto's Jesus), director Sandip Roy once again lives up to the ginormous, and to some extent unfair, expectations of Bengali intelligentsia from a Feluda movie in the post Satyajit Ray - Soumitra Chatterjee era.

Tintoretto, one of the last famous Renaissance painters, had painted a portrait of Jesus (Jishu) that happened to be in the collection of the Niyogi family of Baikunthapur in West Bengal, in their mansion. Feluda, Topshe and Jatayu are invited to the mansion as guests of the Niyogis. Feluda's curiosity is roused by the tale of ruthless killing of the Niyogi's golden retriever Thumri, and a complex crime thriller develops, including theft of the famed painting.
