The buzz is that RA.1 is going to be a sci-fi style movie, with Hollywood-like special effects. If so, this will be a rare film in the genre of science fiction action thriller, which is largely ignored by the Indian / Bollywood movie industry so far, despite being the most prolific cinema factory in the world. Shah Rukh Khan is reportedly going to play the role of a Super Hero in RA-1. The title of the film is based on the Egyptian word for Sun God "Ra".

RA-1 is scheduled for an early 2010 release.
