In the spirit of Classic Bangla Cinema "Basanta Bilap" and the hit TV serial "Ek Nombor Mess Bari", "Premer Phaande Kakatua" is about a boys' hostel named "Khokader Boarding" and an adjacent girls' hostel called "Monader Hostel". Bhombol Banerjee (Paran Bandopadhyay) & his wife Champa (Tanima Sen) manage the two boardings respectively. "Kaka" - Kartik Kanjilal (Jisshu Sengupta) is a resident of the boys' hostel, and Tua - Tulika Acharya (Aishwarya) of the girls' hostel. The two boardings are in competition to outdo each other.

The latest new Kolkata Bangla Film "Premer Phande Kaka Tua" tries to portray a love story of a serious grown-up couple as well as attempts to hold on to frivolous singing, dancing, jokes and fun aspect of a myriad of young men and women thrown together.
