From Krissh to the Divergent Series - India loves Sci-Fi

Mumbai, March 16 - Movie buffs across the world have always enjoyed Science Fiction films across ages. The hypothetical science based themes woven into the plot of the film has always attracted and excited movie goers. Sci Fi as a genre has evolved in Hollywood over the years.

The futuristic elements and technologies to explore social, political, and philosophical issues have been used very effectively in Hollywood. The universal appeal of the genre has made it a big hit in India as well. Indian audiences crave and wait for Hollywood Science Fiction films that are set in the future, either on earth or in space.

Bollywood has also taken notice of this unexplored genre in Indian cinema and taken cue from Hollywood. Successful Sci Fi films like Koi Mil Gaya starring Hrithik Roshan was first of the Krissh series and was one of the biggest films of 2003. Later Rakesh Roshan went on to make other successful films in this genre Krissh and Krissh3 both went on to doing great business.

Superstar Rajnikant starrer Robot about destruction and problems caused due to crating a robot with emotions. The film was not only made on a very high budget but also went on to doing whooping business at the box office.  All of the films made in the Sci Fi genre in Bollywood have beautifully incorporated heroes, villains, unexplored locations, fantastical quests, and advanced technology thus making them huge hits with the audiences.

Until the next sci fi offering of Bollywood , Indian audiences craving to watch a film in the genre can catch the soon to release Hollywood film of the The Divergent Series: Allegiant. Crackling with epic action scenes, spectacular vistas and unexpected twists, Allegiant spans the journey of the story after the earth-shattering revelations of Insurgent with how Tris (Shailene Woodley) must now escape with Four (Theo James) beyond the wall that encircles Chicago to finally discover the shocking truth of what lies behind it.  The film is set to release on April 1 in India.
