Attempts have been made previously to dramatize Byomkesh for the small or big screen, notably Rajit Kapoor on TV playing the role of Byomkesh Bakshi was appreciated by many, including myself.

Now Anjan Dutta - the singer/songwriter turned movie director, is directing the upcoming new Bangla film "Adim Ripu" based on the

Byomkesh Bakshi Mystery Story of the same name by Saradindu Banerjee. Reportedly, the bengali sensuous beauty - actress Swarna Kamal Dutta - will play the role of the woman at the center of the cause and effect of this crime thriller.
