There is a lot of media focus on Bengali actress Pauli Dam being reportedly shot topless / nude in "Choli Ke Peeche". 

"Choli Ke Peechey" is a new movie on which work has started. The film is based on the story "Choli Ke Peche" by Mahasveta Devi. It is an international movie in English directed by Italo Spinelli. Paoli plays the role of a tribal woman. Yes - there are some aesthetically shot scenes with Paoli in the nude, but I do not think these shots are anything like what the media frenzy is trying to conjure up the image of an Adult movie in the minds of the masses by using the words "topless" & "nude". Only time will tell, however.

Paoli Dam made a mark with her role in Goutam Ghose's Kaalbela (2009, starring Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Paoli Dam, Santu Mukhopadhyay, Shantilal Mukhopadhyay, Rudranil Ghosh , Bratya Basu, Mousumi Saha, Anandi Ghosh) earlier this year and is part of the reason of her selection. Paoli's classic dusky Indian beauty looks, which have been compared to Smita Patil, also was a factor. The role was also reportedly offerred to Shahana Goswami and Nandana Sen but reportedly both backed out in consideration of revealing themselves too much.

Shooting will start in August 2009 in Kolkata and southern Purulia distrcit of West Bengal, India.
