Ghazals are Urdu or stylized Hindi poems, mostly five couplets, set to a tune. Sometimes erotic in nature, Ghazal songs are about finer feelings, often about love and separation, or philosophical observations about the way the world works.

Lately, an English form of Ghazal is taking form, lead by composers like Eric Folsom.
