Rabindranath Tagore put the story of Chitrangada into a dance drama - a musical ballet for stage performance. Chitrangada was one of the wives of Arjun whom Arjun met in Manipur (in eastern India) during his travels across India. Chitrangada, the pricncess - daughter of the King of Manipur,  married Arjun on the condition that neither she, nor their children would ever leave Manipur. Their son, Babruvahan, does actually rise to throne, though Tagore's ballet stops before that. In Tagore's drama, Chitrangada is the only heir to the throne, and Arjun meets her dressed as a man hunting with surprising success in a forest, and Arjun is mighty surprised to eventually find out that the hunter is actually a beautiful princess.
