BOR ASHBE EKHUNI is a phrase from an extremely popular Bengali Children's Nursery Rhyme / Bangla Lullaby that goes as follows: Dol Dol Doluni / Ranga Mathaye Chiruni / Bor Ashbe Ekhoni / Niye Jaabe Tokhoni. This is my attempt at translation - please do not laugh: "Rock rock baby / Comb in red hair / The groom will come soon / And take you away pronto".

Anyway, the Bengali Film "Bor Ashbe Ekhoni", written/directed by Rangan Chakraborty tells the story of a young woman Mitil (Koel) from a small town who wants to make it big as a Radio Jockey (RJ - a popular term for Radio hosts in India) in the megapolis of Kolkata (Calcutta). A young software engineer Abhi (Jishu), staying with his buddy (Kanchan) comes across Koel in a pub and falls for her. Kolkata being what it is, Koel cannot find an apartment since no landlord wants a single youg woman as a tenant. Therefore, Koel convinces Jisshu to masquerade as her husband so that they can rent an apartment together.  Yes - you think that plot sounds familiar - guess what, it is ! (Well - I was a young software engineer too at one point, and have been to lots of Bangalore pubs, how come I never met anyone like Koel ?)
