Anurag Kashyap's "Raman Raghav 2.0" (2016): The Complete Serial Killer Movie Preview and Back Story

Mumbai, June 20 - Set in present day Mumbai the story of Raman Raghav 2.0 follows the life of a serial killer Ramanna who is inspired by an infamous serial killer from the 1960s Raman Raghav.

His strange obsession with Raghavan, a young cop keeps growing as he closely follows him without his knowledge and often creates situations where both of them come face to face.

Ramanna (Raman) is a scavenger, who also serves odd jobs. He is subjected to be responsible for the murders of pavement dwellers over the course of time. He has been under constant observation and scrutiny. Ramanna is delusional and has a superiority complex. He claims to be in direct contact with God. For him, crime is a natural urge and a service to humanity, as opposed to what the world deems it to be. He is unapologetic about his actions, proving it through his strong philosophy and self-conviction.

Raghavan (Raghav) Raghavan Singh Ubbi is a young cop who is a misfit in the police force. He doesn't know the difference between right & wrong. He carries with him the burden of a troubled relationship with his father owing to constant substance abuse while growing up. This reflects in his current life.

Director Anurag Kashyap needs no introduction. The most influential Indian filmmaker of recent times, Kashyap is a multi-talented filmmaker who has been credited as a Director, Producer, Writer and also as an Actor, in more than 40 films. He was nominated for the Golden Leopard at the 57th Locarno Film Festival and his two films, Gangs of Wasseypur and Ugly, were in the Director's Fortnight at Cannes. He has also produced various films, which have played at Cannes in various categories, such as The Lunchbox, Masaan, Peddlers, Monsoon Shootout, etc.

Kashyap has served on the jury of Venice, Sundance, CPH Pix and Marrakech film festivals. He was awarded the Knight of the Order of Arts and Letter by the French Government in 2013. Has mentored a host of successful & Award winning Directors like Vikramaditya Motwane, Vasan Bala, Ribhu Dasgupta, Neeraj Ghaywan, etc.

Anurag Kashyap is the face of Indian Cinema at various prestigious film festivals across the globe and was voted as one of the Top 50 Influential Indians by India Today recently.
