Bengali new movie release Ansumaner Chobi, the latest new Bengali / Bangla Tollywood movie, is the first feature full length Bangla Film by Atanu Ghosh, scheduled for a June 2009 release. Atanu Ghosh is known for his work with telefilms and documentaries, especially his simple scripts that are meaningful and have a message for the audience. Atanu often directs National Award winners Saumitra Chatterji & Indrani Haldar - actors who are often considered the top two in the Bengali Tollywood / Kollywood Movie industry as acting powerhouses.

We are all eagelry awaiting the return to Kolkata / Calcutta of Indrani Haldar in Angshumaner Chhobi. Indrani has had a succesful career in the hot Mumbai Bollywood Movie industry and TV Series, including performing with the lead role in Sony's Mega Television Series "Sujata".

The main characters in this Bengali Film span three generations, and are Pradyut, Madhura, Neel and Angshuman. These main roles are played by Soumitra Chattopadhyay, Indrani Haldar,  Tota Roy Choudhury and Indranil Sengupta. The lead cast also includes Rudranil Ghosh, Bhaskar Banerjee, Pijush Ganguly, Anjana Basu and Soma Chakrabarty.

Under music directed by Rocket Mondol, there are five new Bengali Film Songs in this Bangla Movie. The singers are Rupam Islam, Prateek Chowdhury, Subhomita Banerjee, Anwesha Dutta Gupta and Kolkata Bangla Band Bhoomi. Apparently, all songs are in the backgorund or create an ambience, and the cast does not actually sing in this movie.

The producer is Sumita Bhattacharya who has previously produced movies like Tintorettor Jishu, Kailashe Kelenkari and Abar Aranya.

This new Bengali Movie Release essentially explores the film-in-film concept. There seems to be quite some suspense in this Bengali movie as well. Madhura (Indrani Haldar) is a great actress and lands a national award. However, she is unable to sign up for any challenging roles in movies after that, and acts in mundane commercials etc. Director Angshuman (Indraneil Sengupta) returned after nine years of studying Movie Direction from Milan (Milano), Italy, and his friends Rajib  and Sonali provides him a place to stay in.  Angshuman gives Madhura a break with a role as a nurse.  Angsuman had previouslyt promised Bikashranjan (Sabyasachi Chakrabarty) that Ansuman would make a Bengali Movie. Ansuman's plot revolves around a curious relationship between a senior gentleman painter and a young nurse. A suicide happens, and a DSP of CID Crime Branch (Ananya Chatterjee) gets involved. Ansuman, though of course affected by all these happenings,  makes the best of the situation and proceeds towards completing his movie.
