Radio One felicitates young talents with inspiring Young star award

Kolkata, September 26, 2015 (Washington Bangla Radio): Radio One, one of the popular FM stations of Kolkata recently felicitated a number of young achievers who have made a mark in their own respective field.

The initiative titled youth star award Youth star award brought a number of young talent together in a fun filled evening at Tantra in Park Hotel where they were felicitated. Hosted by Rj Shelee and Rj Roy, the event saw the achievements of the young talents being highlighted in a very inspiring way.


Present at the event was Riddhi Sen, who has already proved in films like Open Tee Bioscope and ‘Chirodin e tumi J Amar 2’ that he has rightfully inherited the acting skills from his dad Kaushik Sen. Saurav Ghoshal , the ace squash player from India who reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 15 in December 2013 was also felicitated at the event. The alumni of the school Lakshmipat Singhania Academy in Kolkata is fast becoming a sports idol in India.

Also felicitated at the event was Anuriya Das, the Junior National Badminton Player, Kolkata’s only female Tatoo Artist Tuhina Dutta and economist Mahima Khanna who is third Indian to have received the Stevenson Prize from the University of Cambridge in 2011, after Amartya Sen and Sir Partha Dasgupta. A number of people from the glamour world also got felicitated at the event .The list included actor and designer Neha Panda, Miss Universe Ushoshie Sengupta and dance sensation Manik Paul, whose awad was handed over to his mentor Sudarshan Chakrabarty.

Though a number of youth star awardees like singer Lagnajita, Green Oscar Winner Ashwini Kapoor, National award winner director Aditya Vikram Sharma could not turn up at the do yet their  presence was felt through their achievements.
