Kamaleshwar Mukherjee first venture in Zee Bangla Originals explores religious prejudices

Kolkata, September 15. 2015 (Washington Bangla Radio): Kamaleshwar Mukherjee , the director who is known for directing larger than life films like Meghe Dhaka Tara and Chander Pahar is all set to present his first direct for television movie with ‘13 No Tarachand Lane’. The movie stars popular movie stars from Tollywood like Rahul, Priyanka, Sohini Sarkar and Indrasish Roy.

It is a story of relationships and aspirations muddled together with the harsh reality of  religious prejudices.

Madly in love with each other, Dyuti and Atish decide to run away from home as their parents will never allow inter-religion marriage. Leaving their respected dreams, aspiration and career behind, Atish and Dyuti come to Kolkata and try to find a house to put up at. To procure the house they wished for, they adapt new identity as husband and wife, Chanchaland Sharmee.

While Dyuti tries to make a home out of that rented apartment, Atish takes up a measly job to make finances meet. But soon they realise they need a lot more than this, and eventually, secretly try to work towards their individual dream of becoming an architect and an actress. As distance build between them, they come across a few notes left by the previous occupants of the house, who were also called Chancal and Sharmee.


Reading their notes, Dyuti and Atish realise that  they were extremely career oriented with high aspirations, which in turn had pushed them to unfair means of earning money. They grim fate that followed Chanchal and Sharmee shed new light in Atish and Dyuti’s life and dreams.


The movie will be have its Television premiere on 27th September in Zee bangla. Before that it will have a special screening on 25th September making it the first Zee Bangla Original film to be screened in big screen.
