Bodhi Briksh, a new school in Kolkata launched

Kolkata, September 23,2015 (Washington Bangla Radio): ‘Bodhi Vriksh’ a new school in town was recently inaugurated by Tapan Dasgupta.

 ‘Bodhi Vriksh’ a new school in town was recently inaugurated by Tapan Dasgupta in presence of Dr Utpal Roy Chowdhury ,the director of the school and Principal Shukla Roy Chowdhury. During the launch of the new generation school Tapan Dasgupta said, “We believe preschool education should give as much exposure as possible to the child in all areas of development. Appropriate stimulus is the key to early learning. Hence, the activities have been designed keeping the child in mind and ensuring there is “directional” play all the time.”

“It would involve individual learning with materials small group activities in art, language and gross motor skills learning through a thematic approach occasional support learning through role plays, presentations, storytelling, reading field trips project based learning for older children cultural celebrations.” Tapan Dasgupta added.

Dr Utpal Roychowdhury, the director of the school said, “We have Child centric approach rather than teacher centric. Our Strong Montessori based philosophy & method. We are also incorporating best practices from other early childhood philosophies.”

Partha Chatterjee, Honourable Education Minister who was supposed to attend the programme could not do so due to health issue. But he conveyed his best wishes for the school through a message nad said he would like to visit the school soon.
