Sahana Bajpaie’s second Rabindra Sangeet album to be launched on 9th September

Kolkata, August 04, 2015 (Washington Bangla Radio): Sahana Bajpai, one of the most coveted names among the Rabindra Sangeet exponents with international fame is going to launch her second Rabindra Sangeet album after Notun Kore pabo Bole. The album titled ‘Ja bolo Tai bolo’ will be launched at Someplace Else in Kolkata on 9th September, after a considerable gap of 8years from the previous album.

Produced by Major 7th Music which is headed by Satrajit Sen, the album consists of 12 songs by Tagore. Artists both from England, the present resident of Sahana, and Kolkata has contributed to the album. Prabuddha Banerjee from Kolkata has arranged music for one song. The artists from Engalnd who are associated with this album are Emmy winning jazz pianist Joyee Rehman, Jazz clarinatist and flute player Idris Rehman and guitarist Oliver Wilkes. It is heard that this album will go beyond Rabindra Sangeet and would explore the different genres of folk and traditional music like ‘Krityananga’, ‘Dhrupadanga’, ‘Natyagiti’ and ‘Brahma Sangeet’.

The singer who is also known for a lot of movie songs in both India and Bangladesh Bengali movies will shall launch the album in Bangladesh on 10th September, the very next day after it is unveiled in Kolkata. But her fans and friends from Bangladesh will be a  bit less luckier than their Kolkata counterparts as they will miss Sahana performing live at the launch event unless they manage to arrive at Kolkata on the evening of 9th September.
