Raktima Mukherjee “Kuashai Pichutan”. releases her debut Bengali album

Mumbai, September 2, 2015 (Washington Bangla Radio):  Do you remember Raktima Mukherjee, one of the top three contestants on SaReGaMaPa 2005? She is back in her home town after working almost for a decade in Mumbai. She has turned her attention to her native land, Bengal to give her audience the charm of her lovely voice.

Though being she hails from Bengal she had no Bengali album released until very recently. She has at last come up with her debut Bengali album titled “Kuashai Pichutan”. Joy Sarkar has given the soul to the album by composing its music. Rajiv Chakraborty has penned the lyrics for the melodious song.

“Raktima is very talented singer. She has brought out the hope and despair in the song with equal ease. It was a pleasure working with her,” said Joy Sarkar during the launch event of the album.
“This song is very special for me. I have only chance to make a mark and this had to be the song. I am so happy that the song came out so well. My heart felt gratitude towards Joy (da) for being a mentor and standing beside me as an inspiration. I am also thankful to Rajiv(da) for writing such a beautiful composition. I really hope and pray that everyone likes this album in which we have dedicated a lot of hard work ,” said Raktima.
For those who is still not acquainted with Raktima Mukherjee, let us inform you that she is an Indian playback singer who has lend her voice in various languages like Hindi, Bengali, Mararthi, Nepali, Telegu and others. She has even sung for the daily soaps of Star Plus, Sony, Zee & Imagine Television.

She came into playback singing in national and regional movies and worked with well accomplished music directors like Bappi Lahiri, Pritam, Lalit Sen, Lalit Pandit, Sunil Kaushik, Nitin Shankar, Ismail Darbar, Sajjad Ali and many more. Raktima has been doing various stage shows in India, USA, Canada, Singapore, Honk Kong, Malaysia, Nigeria, Dubai, Abudhabi, Quatar, Australia and New Zealand. She has performed with many Bollywood singers, including Aveejit Bhattacharya, Aadesh Srivastav, Shaan, Bppi Lahiri, Udit Narayan, Aditya Narayan, Javed Ali and K.K to name a few.

She debuted as a playback singer in the movie Mr. Hot Mr. Kool with Shaan in 2007 and subsequently sang for the movie Challo Driver with Shaan again in 2013, sang for Hindi movie “Best seller” and “Ishq Ke parinde” in 2015. She has sung in Bengali movies “Takkar”, “Come Back”, “Amaar Bhalolaga Amaar Bhalobasha “, “Aei Arronye” and Bengali albums. She began her television singing carrer with the title song for Zee t.v’s Mera Naam Karegi Raushan with Roop Kumar Rathode, the title song of Life OK channel’s “Sapno K Bhanwar Me” 2010 – 2011, title song of Imagine t.v’s “Bheend Banunga Ghodi Chadhunga” in 2010. She also sang for Chhota Bheem movie and serial 2011 to 2014.
‘I enjoyed singing for Chhota Bheem as it transported me back to my childhood days’, said Raktima about singing for the first time in an animated movie.
