Kolkata, September 15 (Washington Bangla Radio): Tollywood beauty queen Rituparna Sengupta along with the organization ‘Bhavna Aaj O Kal’ presented an excellent two day show named as “UTTARKHANDER PASHE” at Uttam Mancha. This show was organized to raise fund to aid the victims of the apocalyptic natural disaster. The show was monitored by Picasso Art and Culture.
The show began with the felicitation of ‘Team Alik Sukh’ followed by a Drama titled ‘Nachni’ directed by Partho Protim Deb. Rudraprasad Sengupta, Sathilekha Sengupta, Sohini Sengupta along with veteran artist Debshankar Haldar performed on the stage with others to keep the audience glued to their spellbinding performance.
The show on the second day began with a drama named as ‘Aabason Prokolpo’ directed by renowned veteran actor Biplab Chatterjee. Soon after the drama, the stage was all set for an electrifying show where renowned vocalist Sraboni Sen enthralled the audience with her melodious voice. It was followed by an ignited recitation from Srila Majumdar in the background. Then came the main attraction of the evening Rituparna Sengupta presented splendid and breathtaking dance performances.
Reshmi Mitra, the director who is known for her movies like ‘Macho Mastana’and ‘Char Adhay’ of course her much awaited release Mukti and the evergreen and legendary actress Sumita Sanyal were felicitated at the show.
Sumita Sanyal thanked everybody and she praised Rituparna for social welfare awareness and appreciated Rituparna for her noble task.
The program was attended by Honourable Education Minister and renowned actor Bratya Basu. He said “It is good to see such initiatives where the Bengali film fraternity is standing by the side of victims of Uttarkhand disaster and he is very happy to be a part of this noble cause.” He too appreciated Rituparna for her immense dignity which she holds.
Reshmi Mitra, who is almost ready with her latest film ‘Mukti’ told the media that she is very happy to indulge herself into such a noble cause. She seemed extremely excited and praised Rituparna for her commitment towards the Uttarkhand disaster. She told the media that she feels that it our duty to stand beside those who need support. Rituparna is well known personality not only in Bengal but all over the world. She also thanked Rituparna who made her much ambitious film Mukti memorable with brilliant performance. She said Mukti got a lot of accolades when it was screened in Toronto Film festival and this whole credit goes to Rituparna for her devotion towards the film.
Biplab Chatterjee told the media that he is very proud to be a part of this special program “UTTARKHANDER PASHE” and wants to indulge in more such activities in future. He also praised Rituparna like others. He himself had directed the drama popularly known as Aabason Prakolpo and feels proud to be a part of the drama which is all on a social issue of humanity.
The program was concluded with a speech from Rituparna Sengupta who thanked everybody for having faith in her. She said that she will continue to do all the social welfare works. She said she is an ordinary woman first and a cine star later. It is her duty to stand beside the poor down and down trodden human beings.
