"LIFE! CAMERA ACTION... " to feature at the WORLD PEACE event 2012 in Indonesia


Jakarta, Indonesia, Sept 2, 2012 (Washington Bangla Radio) A moving tale of dreams, aspirations and ambition, "LIFE! CAMERA ACTION…" by Rohit Gupta, won the ‘New Comer – Best Feature Film’ category Award at the prestigious International Film Festival for Peace, Inspiration and Equality (IFFPIE) 2012. IFFPIE also known as the official 'World Peace Film Festival' is being held for the first time in Indonesia. The festival kicked off with a star-studded award ceremony on Thursday, August 30th at the Blitz Megaplex Grand in Jakarta, Indonesia.


"Admissions": an American film production directed by Harry Kakarsakis starring Oscar nominee James Cromwell picked up the 'Best Film of the Festival' award. The jury consisting of international celebrities, handpicked 92 films from over 800 participants around the world to showcase at the IFFPIE 2012 that raise the peace of the world.


According to Sofia Koswara, Chairwoman of World Peace Movement (WPM) "Movies included in IFFPIE 2012 are high quality films that share a common story, mission and theme of Peace".


"Life! Camera Action..." a family drama, shares an incredible and inspiring journey of a young girl in pursuit of following her dreams against all odds. The film has won plethora of international awards including some of the highest festival honors around the world. When contacted, the director was clearly happy of the film's continued recognition. "It's an honor to be included at the World Peace Film Festival 2012." said Gupta in an email reply.

"The main criteria of the winners in addition to technical factors is the strength of the message in the film so this event is not just a film festival, but more than that. It is a means to awaken awareness of the importance of peace. We are tired of conflicts between tribes, religions, race and class. we want to live in peace and together with the welfare of all mankind. The winners of each category of the competition will be aired in theaters, universities, embassies and schools in Indonesia.,” stated Sofia at the press conference here in Jakarta.

This month long festival will have screenings from Aug 30 through Sept 30, 2012 at various locations in the capital city, Jakarta.  "Following to IFFPIE, all award winning films will be next screened in France and Hollywood (USA) in October." added Damien Dematra (Founder/Director of IFFPIE).

"Life! Camera Action…" will be screened on Sept 3rd, 7pm local time at Pacific Place Mall level 3, Jendral Sudirman Street Kav. 52 – 53, Jakarta, Indonesia.
