Calcutta, September 19, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio) What if an album reminds you to party in true ‘Bengali’ style while listening to Bengali folk numbers done in a new way? 'Folk Tantra', a new album by singer Ipshita Mukherjee (interview) is exactly what we are talking about!

The album, whose complete title is ""Folk Tantra - Folk at it's Grooving Best", features several very popular folk, baul, bhatiyali & lalon geeti songs which have remixed and presented in anew way to make it more popular and reach out to more people especially of a segment who otherwise would not have listened to them. A music video DVD of this album has also been made on this occasion so that it can be aired on certain channels to make it popular.

It will help the listeners to identify with the singer, the songs and get a feel of the entire album. The music video seemed to be quite interesting! She has already sung for a film called ‘Premer Kathakali’.

Folk Tantra was launched by eminent film director Goutam Ghosh, noted music director Ashok Bhadra and actress Pallavi Chatterjee at Lake Club on Monday.
