Impatience is
A roll of the eyes.
A tap of the foot.
An exasperated sigh.
A frustrated look.
Impatience is
Mom and Dad
Fifteen minutes late.
3:04 P.M.
on a Friday afternoon.
Impatience is
Five more seconds
On the microwave.
Five more minutes
In bed.
Impatience is
A jammed printer
And a slow internet connection.
Maybe a bad phone service
Or a flickering light.
Impatience is
Waiting for class to start
Tapping your pencil
Impatiently.
Impatience is
Waiting for class to end.
Staring at the clock,
Counting seconds
Impatiently.
