Calcutta, Sept 6, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio) ‘Phande Poriya Baga Kande Re’, a new film from Shree Venkatesh Films, is a ‘situational comedy’, said first time director Soumik Chattopadhyay who met the press along with the lead pair Soham and Srabonti on Monday at the Kenilworth.
The film is about a simple guy Raju (Soham) who falls into a trap and can’t get out of it initially, and about how he uses his instincts to come out of that trap during which he also comes across Mishti (Shrabanti). The film is absolutely different from Soham and Srabanti’s last release ‘Amanush’ where Soham had played a psychic killer.
This film is a very feel good film which is eyeing a Puja release.
Jeet Ganguli and Samidh are the music directors of the film. While Jeet has given music for around 3 songs, Samidh has given music for 2 songs. The two songs for which Samidh has given music are ‘Janina’ and ‘Coca Cola’ / ’Kokakola’ - the latter is probably one of the first "item songs" which has been filmed on the lead pair instead of any item girl or any other personality.
The song has been shot at Filmistan Studio and has seen sung by Samidh himself and Kalpana. Samidh also doubles up as the lyricist for both his songs.
Said Samidh, "the element of rap is usually used in dance numbers or wacky funny numbers, but this is the first time that rap has been used in a love song". Other than Samidh and Kalpana, the other playback singers are Kunal Ganjawala, Monali Thakur, Shaan and K.K.

The film has been shot in Kolkata, Jharkand, Hyderabad, Bolpur, Mauritius and Mumbai (the last 2 places for songs only).
The film also stars Deepankar Dey, Kaushik Chakrabarty, Surajit Sen and others. The editor is Rabiranjan Maitra.
The film is expected to release on 30th September, 2011.
