The tag-line in the poster, "Revolution Begins", is apt, conveying some of the incredible events of April 18, 1930. With barely 65 people with extremely limited resources and the dream of a free country to urge them on, Surya Sen - affectionately called Masterda - and his freedom fighters achieved a siege of remarkable magnitude, against a fully trained and equipped military machine of British invaders.

Surya Sen with his comrades-in-arms Ganesh Ghosh, Lokenath Baul, Nirmal Sen, Ambika Chakrobarty, Naresh Roy, Sasanka Datta, Ardhendu Dastidar, Harigopal Baul, Tarakeswar Dastidar, Ananta Singh, Jiban Ghoshal, Anand Gupta, Pritilata Waddedar, Kalpana Dutta and many others, and a boy barely into his teens named Subodh Roy, took control of two armouries in Chittagong, raised the Indian National Flag, and declared independence under a Provisional Revolutionary Government operating under the Indian Republican Army.

Around four days later, in a showdown with the mighty Queen's army, the little group took on forces numbering several thousand at Jalalabad hills. Twelve Indian National heroes gave their lives to free their motherland, but not before taking down eighty of the invading army.

Playing Masterda and doing justice to Masterda is surely an honor and a challenge for actor Abhishek Bachchan. We are sure he will live up to the legendary freedom fighter and deliver a powerful performance.
