Steve Bass To Be Production Designer For The 83rd Oscars

September 24, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio / Pen Men at Work): It has been announced that Steve Bass will be serve as the production designer for the 83rd Academy Awards this year. This announcement was made public by Oscar telecast producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer. Steve Bass is an Emmy-winning production designer and it would be his first time to work on the telecast of Oscar.

Mischer said that he has previously collaborated with Bass and he thinks that the latter is an extremely innovative and talented person who would be apt for increasing the glitz and glamour of the Oscars.

Bruce said that he and Don were absolutely confident about Steve’s capabilities and they both had decided that Steve would be the right man for the job. Steve, the two feel is indeed a master for designing high-profile and epic events, and frankly the Oscars is as big as it gets.

Bass, very recently, did some work with Mischer for the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards. His other collaborations include “Movies Rock,” and “We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial,” just to name a few.

Bass has a very impressive resume and is the best at what he does. He has won not one but two Emmys. He won his first Emmy Award in the year 1997 as an art director for the “Centennial Olympic Games: Opening Ceremonies”. He won his second Emmy, eight years later in the year 2005 thanks to his awesome production design for the 47th Annual Grammy Awards.
