Landslides kill 10 in Arunachal Pradesh

Guwahati, Sept 10 (IBNS) : At least 10 people were killed and over 10000 others were affected in the first wave floods and landslides triggered by continuous heavy rains in the past two days in Arunachal Pradesh, officials said on Friday.
At least ten people were buried to death under the debris at Mossing village in Upper Siang district on Thursday night.
The Upper Siang district was cut off from the road link to other places in the state due to flash foods triggered by torrential rains.
“A vital bridge connecting Upper Siang with other places was badly damaged and a school building was also damaged in flash floods,” a district official said.
Flash floods submerged the Prem Nagar Colony, East and West Damsite, Naharlagun and few areas in Upper Siang district.
Over 10000 people were affected in flash floods and they were forced to took shelter in higher places.
A number of houses were washed away at Gossang village.
