Four killed in Assam mishaps

Guwahati, Sept 10 (IBNS) Four people, including two children, were killed in separate incidents in Assam on Friday, police said.
According to police, two people were killed and 50 others injured in a road mishap in Assam's Nagaon district on Friday morning.
The incident took place at National Highway (NH)-37 near Dimow in the district on Friday, when two passenger buses collided with each other. Drivers of both vehicles were killed on the spot.
''An Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) operated super bus on the way from Guwahati to Tinsukia and another passenger 709 bus, coming from the opposite direction collided on NH-37,'' a police official said.
"The drivers-Manik Das and Amal Paul- were killed on the spot and 50 passengers were injured; four are in critical condition," the official added.
The injured persons are undergoing treatment at Nagaon Civil Hospital.
In another incident, two minors were killed by lightning at Kayakuchi village in Barpeta district on Friday.
They were identified as Azijul Haque (9) and Hafizul Islam (5).
