Ahmedabad, Aug 17 (IBNS) A CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) special
court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing on a bail plea of former Gujarat
minister Amit Shah, arrested in connection with the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake
encounter case, till August 30.
According to reports, Shah's lawyer Mitesh Amin requested CBI Judge GK
Upadhyay not to hear the case in absence of their senior advocate Ram
Jethmalani.
Shah’s bail hearing was adjourned earlier on Aug 11 as well, since
Jethmalani could not make it to the court that day.
Shah, a former Gujarat minister of state for Home, has been charged with
murder, abduction, extortion and conspiracy in the 2005 Sohrabuddin and his
wife Kausar Bi’s fake encounter case.
