Dancer’s Guild show their talent at the Annual Show on 30th August, 2009 at Rabindrasadan, Kolkata

Dancer’s Guild is one amongst the most famous Dance Groups of Kolkata dealing with contemporary dance ( called Nabanrityo ) conceptualizing on various Indian classical, folk and traditional dance forms and on various issues. Established in 1983 by World Famous Danseuse Manjushree Chaki Sircar, this famous organization is performing with repute nationally and also internationally even after sudden demise of Dr. Chaki Sircar and her daughter, eminent Danseuse Smt. Ranjabati Sircar.

They presented three Dance Drama in the evening. 1st one was “Gangavataran” choreographed by their director Mrs. Jonaki Sarkar, assisted by Rabi Sankar Roy and Sadhana Hazra, based on epical story of the descent and power of river Ganges.

The 2nd was “Krauncha-katha” choreographed by Dr. Chaki Sircar on the rhythms of Peruvian folklore, is a fable depicting a community of mallards, their blissful existence and receiving the ultimate threat of extinction from hunters driven by greed and avarice. The last one was their most recent production, Jajnaseni, directed by Jonaki Sarkar, is conceptualized on entire lfe of Mahabharata’s central women character, Draupadi on the backdrop of the war of Kurukshetra.

As the finale, they remembered Dr. Chaki Sircar by another wonderful dance recital.

Dancer’s Guild again showed their talent and power with grace in full auditorium. We are hoping to see their creative performances very frequently.
