South African Tourism offers a host of facilities for Indian tourists

Kolkata, Auhust 16, 2015 (Washington Bangla Radio): South Africa has always been one of the most popular nation of tourist attraction. Such is its popularity among tourists around the world that every year at least 10% of The Nation’s total GDP comes from the tourism industry. And to encourage its tourism in future, the tourism department has started ‘Learn South Africa’ class room training programs. This program was first introduced in 2010.
This year Learn SOUTH AFRICA will have some new and unique concepts. The sixth module of Learn SOUTH AFRICA would commence from July 14th to August 4th, 2015.  It will include various cities like Goa, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Delhi, Jalandhar, Lucknow, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Trichy, Bangalore, Cochin and Nagpur.
Hanneli Slabber,, the Country Manager of  South African Tourism in India, was the chief addresser on this event. With her experiences and research, she has come across laods of new learning about the choices and demands of Indian tourists. Indians now look for more experiences, memorable and adventurous holidays. So this season, Learn SOUTH AFRICA tourism will get designed as per the demands of the Indian keeping in mind the GDP it has ensured for Indian tourists. It will also invest proportionately in educating the trade partners about utilizing the maximum for the available offers

South Africa is also bringing in new revolution in food and beverages to attract more tourist from the sub continent. This time they would offer vegetarian cuisine for the Indians. For this reason they have opened up several Indian restaurants.

Hanneli Slabber has South Africa said that Indians are the easiest travelers to handle. Every year there is a steep increase in the number of tourists visiting South Africa from India. On being asked about what type of activities Indian tends to do during trips, Hanneli informed that Indians asks for four to six tourism activities a day while the rest of the world would go for three activities a day. Last year they got nearly 20,000 Indian tourists which are more than what they get from any other nation. They provide 130 tourism activities. Indians are more inclined to adventurous sports like Sky Diving, Blancher jumps, Bungee jumping, Abseiling & Kloofinge, Tree Top Swinging, Rafting, Scuba Diving & Snorkeling, Shark Diving, Surfing, Hand gliding, rock climbing and many more. She also said that young families with children and youngsters would be more prominent group among the tourists. And most of the Indian tourists opt for Cape Town and Garden Route.


Hanneli Slabber also South Africaid that SOUTH AFRICA tourism spends nearly 60% of the total budget looking for Indian trade. However, their biggest markets are  UK, US and Germany. In India West Bengal offers a massive market. So for WB, they would spend more on art galleries, museums, educational approaches, history of SOUTH AFRICA and South Africa safari.  For SOUTH AFRICA, Kolkata also provides massive leisure markets. As Kolkata offers 9% of the total leisure market which would be a very nice thing if it works. She also mentioned that Indians can now pay taxi fares by using their Debit or Credit cards.
This year SOUTH AFRICA Tourism will provide a lucky draw for each lucky traveler from each city to secure a chance to win an all expense paid trip to SOUTH AFRICA.
