Kolkata, August 25 (Washington Bangla Radio): Saibal Banerjee’s debut music album “Poth Choltey Choltey” was launched at Jhal Farezi in the presence of Tollywood actor Parambrata Chattopadhyaya. Drummer Gaurab Chatterjee who is fondly known as Gabu and music director Rajesh Roy was also present at the music album launch which was presented by Rooh Music.
Speaking on the occasion, Saibal Banerjee said, “Music has always been my passion since my childhood days. I have never taken any formal training in music. Whatever I know of music, it is with the help of the training that I received from my mother Mrs. Reena Banerjee. This is a moment of self actualization. The love and appreciation which I have already received from friends, relatives and my listeners is overwhelming. I feel more responsible and I promise to work harder to live up to their expectations”. The song Jenechi Bhalobeshe which is part of this album has been also introduced in the film Porichoy starring Prosenjit Chatterjee and the very sweet Mishti Mukherjee.
Black t-shirt, blue jeans and the light blue canvas shoes gave actor Parambrata Chatterjee the look of a college going boy. The actor who arrived a little late for the event due to heavy rains made it up with his smiles. “I have known Saibal for many years now. He is more than a friend now. I rely on him for many decisions that I take. So it gives me immense pleasure to be part of his music album launch. When he asked me to come for his album launch, I told him that I will surely be a part of this ceremony if I am in Kolkata. Hence I am here to keep my word that I gave to Saibal” said Parambrata. The rains in Kolkata reminded the actor of the rains in Darjeeling when he went for his shooting of the film Highway with Koel Mullick. The actor who has been earning praise for his portrayal of Barun Biswas in the film Proloy said “I express my gratitude to the audience for praising my endeavor to portray Barun Biswas. He was a great human being and to be able to portray him on screen has been a memorable experience”. The actor despite earning positive acclaims for his directorial venture Hawa Bodol is not taking up direction as a full time career option and is still concentrating on his acting.
Rajesh Roy, the music director of the album highlighted that the album has the feel of the 90’s. The blend of modern techniques has enhanced the quality of the songs. The songs have an earthy feeling and a soft romantic flavor. This will touch the heart of every listener. The music director was all praises for Saibal whom he felt have “put in great effort to breathe life into each composition with his soulful voice.” The album has six songs. The lyrics of the songs have been written by Rajesh Roy and Sumit Acharya. “Kichu smriti”, “dekha kobey pai”, “unishey paa”, “neel nodi” have a soft melody to them. This will appeal to the listeners very much.
‘Poth choltey choltey’ will be a good collection for the listeners. We wish Saibal all the luck and hope his journey in the field of music continues.
