Why Jeet’s latest movie is titled as Boss? A lot of reasons may be cited to signify the title. A handful of them may be provided by the makers of the film while much more we can have from Jeet’s huge number of fans spread far and wide. But the simple answer is that the film is being produced by none other than himself. So who else can be considered as Boss?

Jeet may be the Boss on screen and also on papers when it comes to the describing his designation but he is reportedly not so during the shooting. “He submits himself totally to the director during the shoot and acts precisely according to the directors will.” Said Baba Yadav, the choreographer turned director during the grand musical launch of the film which took place recently at Avani Riverside Mall. “While we were in Turkey, I told Jeet to jump into a pool for a shot. The water was freezing there but Jeet obliged and plunged into the pool though he knew that the water is near to freezing point. Jeet is such obedient, in spite of being such a big star.” told Baba Yadav.

Baba Yadav who is going to mark his directorial debut through this film revealed exclusively to WBRi how this breakthrough happened. “I was nurturing a desire deep within to direct a film. Jeet is a very good friend of mine and our friendship had grown stronger over the days as I have choreographed him in many dance sequences. I had told him about my desire of directing a film months back. Suddenly one day Jeet offered me to direct this film which was going to be produced under the Banner of ‘Grassroot Entertainments’, his own production house. I initially could not believe what I was being offered and I felt Butterflies dancing inside my stomach.” told the ace choreographer.

Baba Yadav also said that directing the whole film is quite a different game than directing only the song and dance parts. He said, “Choreography is just a small, though a very important part of the film. But taking charge of directing a whole film is quite a different ball game. I hope that I will live up to everyone’s expectations and the audience will like my work.”

About his expectations from the movie, Baba Yadav said that he is expecting high responses from this movie as the film has a high production value and has been shot in excellent locations. Moreover Jeet is having a great time and is striking gold with every film and this film is very unlikely to be an exception.

Boss is the Bengali remake of Mahesh Babu starrer Telegu blockbuster ‘Business Man’. When WBRi asked that if any significant difference will be seen in the remake, Baba Yadav said that there will be a lot of alterations in ‘Boss’. He also revealed that Shubasree will be seen as a diva where the female lead in the original was an ordinary girl from a middle class family. Shubasree plays a super model in the film and will be seen in a glamorous avatar.

Being a leading Choroeographer Baba Yadav is also interested in making a dance movie but with a strong story line. “Most of the dance films have a weak and very predictable story line. I would definitely like to make a dance film but only when I come up with a very strong story line. If the storyline is not good what is the point in making a film? If it is only about dance I can entertain audience with performances in concerts.”

Jeet, too was present at the music launch. When asked that how he is handling the pressure of being a producer and actor simultaneously, he said, “My production is being headed by my Brother Gopal and he is handling everything very efficiently. This gives me enough space to concentrate on my acting assignments. When I am on floor I consider myself only as an actor.”

When asked that why he is addicted to Non-Bengali titles for his films (Dewaana, Wanted, Fighter, Awaara, 100 % Love and Boss to name a few) the superstar said that it is just a co-incidence and the titles were all selected by the production houses.

The music album which was launched has five tracks which already have become a hit. The Boss Title track sung by Jeet Ganguly and the very peppy dance number ‘Jhinkunakur na’ which has the voice of Rana Majumdar and Akriti Kakkar can be heard almost everywhere. Lyrics of both the songs have been penned by Meghnad.

‘Mon Majhi re’ and ‘Icche Joto’, these two songs have been sung by Arijit Singh. The later song also has the voice of Monali Thakur. Prosen and Chandrani Ganguly has contributed to the lyrics of the two songs respectively. The last track is ‘Mash Up’ designed perfectly for a nightclub ambiance.

A fun moment during the music launch was when a journalist arrived with a Bengali dictionary and asked Jeet, Shubasree and Baba Yadav about the meaning of ‘Jhinku Nakur’. The unexpected query took aback Jeet largely and sent Shubasree into a laughing riot.
