Munshi Premchand’s Festival ‘Prem-Utsav-20012’ in Mumbai till 9th August

Mumbai, August 7, 2012 (Washington Bangla Radio) Ideal Drama and Entertainment  Academy (IDEA) has organised Hindi play festival ‘Prem- Utsav 2012′ to commemorate the 132nd birth anniversary of Munshi Premchand. The festival is being organised at Sathaye College in Vile Parle (East),Mumbai. The festival began on 31st July and finished on 9th August 2012. The entry is free and the timings were 5 PM to 10 PM. The General Secretary for the event is Aaliyah Khan and President is Mujeeb Khan.

The festival is featuring plays based on 100 stories by Munshi Premchand. The festival is being organised since 2005 and they have presented play based on 295 stories of Munshi Premchand’s 315 stories. TV Actor Vijay Badlani is featuring in five of these plays including ‘Shatranj Ke Khiladi,’ ‘Masoom Bachcha,’ Pandit Moteram Shastri,’ ‘Jehad,’ and ‘Mange Ghadi’.Vijay Badlani says “The plays give an actor so much satisfaction and it cannot be experiences anywhere else while acting. If any actor wants to polish his skills, he should participate in a play.”

Director Mujeeb Khan says “I don’t want to sell Munshi Premchand, hence the entry for the play is free. The objective is to improve society via Munshi Premchands messages. People should not forget our writers.”

The known actors participating in the plays are Abhishek Alhuwalia, Vijay Badlani, Ajay Shukla, Pervez Khan, Amolika Mishra, Indrapreet Kaur, Jayshree Agarwal, Mohan Singh Rajput, Dipti, Vinay Yadav ,Hemant Pandey,Hutoxi Chhapghaqar, Jayesh Yadav,Krishanu Battacharya, Pankaj Madaan, Vandana Asthana,Gauri Sandhu,Richa and others.
