The sci-fi action thriller which mesmerized the audience with its release in 1990 is back once again for the entertainment of the audience. The reboot film of Sony Pictures Total Recall is back with a new star cast and a new concept. The film stars Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel and Colin Farrell and is inspired and based on author Philip K Dick’s short story “We can remember it for you Wholesale.”
A common factory worker Douglas Quaid(Colin Farrell) whose life changes the moment he enters a company named Rekall; the company which gives you the memories to cherish for a lifetime. Quaid has a beautiful wife Lori (Kate Beckinsale) whom he loves. But the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life - real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. However, things start changing when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston) – there is no one Quaid can trust, except possibly a rebel fighter Melina (Jessica Biel) working for the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy). The chase, the fight makes no sense to Quaid. The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate. Unlike its original version which takes Quaid to Mars in the pursuit of truth, the reboot will take place on the future earth.
The movie that releases on 3rd August directed by Len Wiseman and is produced by Neal Moritz and Toby Jaffe. The Screenplay for the film is given by Kurt Wimmer and Mark Bomback.
