Saree-jewellery exhibition for Durga Puja
Kolkata, Aug 27 (IBNS): With the festive season round the corner, as Kolkatans have already started shopping for Durga Puja, Kamala, a retail outlet of Crafts Council of India, is exhibiting its new collection of sarees and jewelleries.
President of Crafts Council of India Kasturi Gupta Menon, Director of Rabindranath Tagore Centre (ICCR) Reba Som and singer Paromita Biswas inaugurated the exhibition here on Saturday.
The exhibition showcases collections of sarees from the looms of weavers from Varanasi, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Bhagalpur, Jaipur, Himachal Pradesh, Assam and West Bengal.
There is also a wide range of silver and eco- friendly jewelleries that comes within a price range of Rs.550 to Rs.12000.
"Just before the arrival of the Goddess, resplendent in all her glory, the women of the city have a wide range of sarees and jewellery to choose from.And its for sure that this Durga Puja is incomplete without a shopping trip to Kamala," said Menon.
The exhibition will continue till September 2.
