Shammi Kapoor will forever remain as a style icon and a great star who not only popularized stylized sequences, but also brought about melodious and westernized music, Elvis style shakes and a charming screen persona that is still un-matched to this day.

His last theatrical release was SANDWICH in the year 2006.shammijiteesrimanzil

Recently he did a magnificent cameo in his grand-son Ranbir Kapoor's forthcoming film in November 2011 - ROCKSTAR.

He developed a style of his own, which was very much improvised and moviegoers flocked to the theatres just to see Shammi Kapoor's "antics and mannerisms."

shamwifeyfullWith his infectious on-screen persona and energy, Shammi Kapoor was Bollywood's first real star, say correspondents.  BBC also says that "The actor was also a keen internet buff and amongst the first Indians to have a website of his own.

Shammi was married to actress Geeta Bali who he said was the love of his live. She died of small pox during the filming of Teesri Manzil.
They have two children - a son Aditya, and a daughter Kanchan. He later married Neela Devi.
