Baishe Srabon Bengali Movie Poster

Calcutta, Aug 8, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio) In 2011, a series of gruesome murders rock Kolkata. A cop (Parambrata) seeks the truth. A TV news channel reporter (Raima Sen) seeks a story. A genius (Prosenjit Chatterjee) seeks redemption. And a poet (played by Goutam Ghosh!) seeks revenge!

The trailer invites you to come join the chase through the lanes of the mind with shadows of the past. And ask yourself if you can handle the truth.

You have heard Srijit Mukherji say in our audio interview (posted here) that after Autograph, he wanted to make something that is diametrically opposite. Always a thriller buff and fascinated with poetry, Srijit indicated he wanted to explore violence, and poems and music. "If Autograph were represented by a color, it would be feel-good white - or perhaps slightly gray. But Baishey Shrabon is going to be darker." he said.

Looking at the trailer, we all eagerly await what Srijit will invariably toss into our minds for us to try to process. This film, indeed, does not look anything like Autograph - though comparisons will be invariably made, as Srijit himself realizes.

Cast: Goutam Ghosh (interview), Prosenjit Chatterjee (interview), Parambrata Chattopadhyay (interview), Raima Sen, Abir Chatterjee (interview) and others. The movie features songs written and composed by Anupam Roy (interview) and background score by Indradeep Dasgupta. The film songs are performed by playback singers Rupam Islam, Anupam Roy, Srikanto Acharya, Raghav Chatterjee (interview), Saptarshi Mukherjee, Anindya Chatterjee and Shreya Ghoshal.

Watch the full almost 3-minute trailer of Bengali movie "Baishe Srabon", and brace yourself for a the kind of ride only Srijit can deliver!
