Calcutta, August 1, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio) A new promotional trailer for the forthcoming Bengali film "Chaplin" has been released on You Tube.

In our interview with director Anindo Banerjee (available here), we have listened to how Padmanabha Dasgupta, the writer of Chaplin, once attended a birthday party of a friend of his son, and came across a professional entertainer at the party who was impersonating Charlie Chaplin - thus sowing the seed for the film. Rudranil Ghosh assisted in completing the story, and Orion Entertainment, who are well known for their innovative approach, are the producers. The contributions of Rudranil Ghosh, Mir and child-actor Soham who is a 5th grade student are especially commendable.

We have also listened to actress Rachita Chauhan née Bhattacharya talk about Chaplin in this interview. Among her other widely anticipated Bengali films, Kamaleshwar Mukherjee's (interview) Uro Chithi and Kaushik Ganguly's (interview) Rang Milanti are also opening soon in theaters.

Chaplin also stars Srijit Mukherji (interview) - the director who brought us Autograph and whose 2nd Bengali feature film Baishe Srabon is expected to release over the Durga Pujas 2011 in Kolkata.

Chaplin is essentially an emotional tale of the relationship between a father and his son. Watch the trailer.
