Patna, Aug 30 (IBNS) At least seven policemen were shot dead and over 11 others injured by Maoists in an overnight encounter that raged for over 12 hours in Bihar's Lakhisrai district, latest reports said on Monday.

“We have seven bodies in our custody. Eleven jawans have been injured; four are still missing,” said a senior official of Bihar Police on Monday.

The outlaws using automatic weapons fired indiscriminately on a joint team of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Bihar Military Police (BMP) and State Auxiliary Police (SAP) personnel, who were combing the area at Ramtalnagar village under Kajtra police station in the district.

The injured cops have been rushed to Patna Medical College.
