Known to have created history as one of the longest-running musical competitions on television, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar had its auditions in Kolkata, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Guwahati, Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Indore, Ahmedabad and Jalandhar. An added dimension to the show will be participation from contestants from Dubai, New York, London, South Africa and four cities in Pakistan.

With overwhelming success of over 18 years under its belt, Indian television channel ZEE TV presents Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in a new season in 2010 called Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar. The spirit of the show is younger than ever before. Young musical geniuses like Sajid-Wajid, Vishal-Shekhar and Daler Mehendi are the judges of the show.

Sajid Ali and Wajid Ali are brothers who work as Hindi music composers and directors for Bollywood films. Sajid-Wajid. Sajid Ali has been honored with life membership of International Film And Television Research Centre of Asian Academy Of Film & Television by Sandeep Marwah.

Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani form music directing duo Vishal-Shekhar for Bollywood Hindi films. They became famous with Jhankaar Beats and have a long list of box-office superhits like Om Shanti Om, Tara Rum Pum, Salaam Namaste, Dus, Bluffmaster, Tashan, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Dostana, I Hate Luv Storys and Anjaana Anjaani. They are winners of Filmfare R D Burman Award for New Music Talent for Jhankaar Beats.

Daler Mehndi - the famous Indian Bhangra pop singer - started off with Punjabi folk / root songs breaking sales records in India with his debut album. He is a very successful Bollywood Hindi Film Song playback singer as well publisher of his hit non-film albums.

Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar is a fine blend of its own glorious heritage with the spunk and vibrancy of today's times. A fresh look, a hip and happening set, a hit anchor and an instantly catchy brand-new title track will lend a very contemporary feel to the show and motivate the youth to deliver one breath-taking performance after another.

The quest at ZEE TV's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa this year is to hunt out  India's Singing Superstar - not just a good voice, not a playback singer but a youthful voice that can rock the nation.

The participants of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa are between 16 to 28 years of age.
