Director Kaliprasad Ghosh made the Bengali movie KAR PAPE released in 1952 starring Mahanayak Uttam Kumar with Asit Baran, Chhabi Biswas, Manju Dey, Reba Devi and others. Music director of KAR PAPEY, Anupam Ghatak, did a good job, according to people who have watched the film.

Bengali actress Reba Devi's previous notable performance was in Debaki Kumar Bose's Kobi (1949) [DVD release] where she appeared with Robin Majumdar, Anubha Gupta, Nilima Das, Nitish Mukherjee, Tulsi Chakraborty, Nripati Chatterjee, Nibhanani Devi and others. Kavi was based on a story by Tarashankar Bandopadhyay with music direction by Anil Bagchi.

Manju Dey had previously appeared in BEYALLISH (1951) - also known as 42 - [Buy DVD] directed by Hemen Gupta co-starring Pradeep Kumar, Manju Dey, Bikash Roy, Sombhu Mitra, Bankim Ghosh and more. BIYALLISH had music directed by the legendary Hemanta Mukherjee.
