Natobar Not Out - Megher Palok: Bengali Film Song promo - watch via You Tube
Megher Palok Chander Nolok Kagojer Kheya Bhashche is a beautiful song from the Bengali movie NATOBAR NOT OUT (2010).
Natobar Gupta - alias Nata - will become a poet some day, according to the film's trailers released online. The title role of Natobar Gupta is played by Tollywood newcomer Mustafa Prakash, reportedly an actor from Bangladesh. Raima Sen and Mustafa are seen in some visually rich sets in a song-and-dance sequence with Megher Palok - but the set design and choreography are distinctly different from Bollywood-inspired Tollywood commercial item numbers and song sequences.
Going by the promo, the film does look different - there is a certain dramatic feel to it that makes watching them all the more enjoyble.
Natobor Not Out is a comedy which will appeal to a wide cross-section of Bengalis - urban, small town and even rural, as almost every Bengali is either already a poet or at least aspires to be one. That there’s something in them that pulls them towards poetry is now a known fact. This is the story of a young chap ‘Natobor’ from a typical north Calcutta middle-class neighbourhood whose heart beats for poetry, but with no appreciation coming from any quarters – not even the local club, he loses heart almost every day.
