Kolkata, July 25 (Washington Bangla Radio): Leading Bengali Tollywood actress known for her cute girl next door charm Ridhima Ghosh in a candid chat session with WBRi correspondent Sayantanee Dutt talks about her career, aspirations and all that she loves and hates.

Here’s how and why Riddhima is an actress:

Since early childhood, Riddhima had only wanted to become an actress and did all she could right from her school days to refine her histrionic skills as even in her school and college days, Riddhima had acted in many plays. She was born and brought up in Kolkata and completed her schooling from Loreto House.

Ridhima also says that the primary reason why she has been able to taste success today is because she always had full support from her family thus giving her the liberty and encouraging her to give the best performance every time she is in front of the camera.

Ridhima Ghosh made her first appearance in a Bengali television serial “Bou Kotha Kao”. In the year of 2009 she made took the big leap with her first debut film, “Friend”. Apart from that, she has acted in many other Kolkata Bangla movies like “Rang Milanti”, “Love Connection”, “Laptop” and more.

Interestingly, while Riddhima loves to act and be a successful actress, she also gives due importance to studies and has a “no-compromise” attitude towards it. According to her, acting in television serials hampers her studies due to which she prefers doing films over T.V serials. Ridhima also revealed that she enjoys doing different kinds of roles in different movies and from the movies that she has done till now, the character she played in “Rang Milanti” is her favorite and even fulfills her creative aspirations to an extent.

Ridhima also shared her experiences and some memorable moments which she had while working with a director, Kaushik Ganguly in “Laptop” and “Rang Milanti” with Sayantanee. In fact, she says that the two films have played a major role in shaping up her career. Ridhima also expressed her desire to work in Hindi films if a good offer comes her way. In future, she would also like to work with many other award winning directors like Sandip Ray, Aparna Sen and others of the like. Riddhima also told WBRi that if any day she gets a chance to act in Hindi movies, then she would prefer working with directors like Anurag Basu and Anurag Kashyap.

Apart from expressing her willingness to work with well known directors of both Bollywood and Tollywood, she also shares her dream of doing the role of Nawazuddin Siddiqui in “Gangs of Wasseypur” which she almost idolizes. 

Riddhima is a foodie and also enjoys dancing and even though she is managing some tight schedules with her new movie Half Serious about to release shortly, she manages to party out with friends and enjoys life to the fullest.
