Ice Age 4: Continental Drift Feature Trailer

Ice Age 4 presents the same protagonists as in the earlier films. Manny the mammoth (voiced by Ray Romano), Sid the sloth (John Leguizamo) and Diego the saber- toothed tiger (Denis Leary) are cast loose on an iceberg. Manny’s better half, Ellie (Queen Latifah), and daughter Peaches (Keke Palmer) are detached from them along with rest of the herd.  Scrat’s story is narrated in a parallel manner. His well known chase for acorns causes the breaking of the Pangaea landmass into the continents. Manny and Ellie’s teenage daughter Peaches has a crush on Ethan. On the other hand, Peaches' best friend, a mole hog named Louis, has a crush on her. Sid is being looked after by his family, who earlier had abandoned him. But they still want to leave. As his frustrating Granny leaves him again, Sid begins to wonder whether his family loves him or not. Soon, the breakup of the continent parts Manny from his family. Manny has to stay back with Sid, Diego and Granny on a floating ice raft. A huge moving island drives Peaches, Ellie, Crash and Eddie, Louis, Ethan and many other animals toward a land bridge. But there is more to the story. Eventually Scrat reaches ‘Scratlantis’-where he finds other saber-toothed squirrels and many, many nuts. What leads a merry Scrat to cause the city to sink to the bottom of the ocean? Where does he finally land on? Get back to your favorite star squirrel at the theaters and experience his passionate nut chasing voyage!

Ice Age 4: Continental Drift brings star voices to suit our animated star heroes. They borrow voices of Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Queen Latifah, Seann William Scott, Josh Peck, Keke Palmer, Chris Wedge, Peter Dinklage, Jennifer Lopez, Wanda Sykes, Drake and Nicki Minaj.

Screen writers Michael Berg, Jason Fuchs and Mike Reiss present a rather concrete, factory-made and somewhat routine story this time. The chemistry among the three guys smoothly drives the movie once again, however.

Cinematography by Renato Falcao as well as the editing job by James Palumbo and David Ian Salter are fantastically done. With a perfect blend of color and music, the animated characters really seem to welcome viewers to join their mad herd. Music director John Powell has come up with some brilliant scores. He leads you to the same space as the loony toons!

Directors Steve Martino and Mike Thurmeier have done a wonderful job in ‘Ice Age 4: Continental Drift’. If one complains that this 3Dflick lacks equal warmth as the earlier Scrat films, just watch the movie and tell them, it’s cool enough!
