Kolkata July 28, 2012 (Washington Bangla Radio / Penning Creations) The audio songs of Rituparna Sengupta’s latest film Muktodhara was launched on the 27th of July at the South City Mall. The directors Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee (Icche) have picked up an altogether different story that revolves around the life of prisoners in jail and the attitude of the society towards them.

The film is produced by Bachchu Biswas under the banner of Progressive Films. The film stars Rituparna Sengupta, Nigel Akkara, Bratya Basu, Debshankar Halder, Kharaj Mukherjee and others essaying important roles. Muktadhara inspired by Rabindranath Tagore’s novel Balmiki Pratibha.
After the success of last year's Ichche, Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee are back with an unusual and unexplored topic for the audience. They are optimistic their second film will also be well appraised.
The music of the film is composed by Surojit Chatterjee and Joy Sarkar, two of the most talented music directors of the industry. There are ten Bengali film songs in the soundtrack OST Music album performed by Surojit Chatterjee, Rupam Islam, Raghab Chatterjee, Mir, Lopa Mudra Mitra, Joytee Chakraborty, Arijit Chakraborty, Joy Bhattacharya, Avik Mukherjee, Deep Chakraborty, Shilajit Majumdar and Mohan Singh Khangura.
Joy Sarkar said both of he and Surojit have worked very hard for the music of the film. He had the task of arranging music for Rabindra Sangeet which was a great challenge for him but he has managed to do it. Singer-Songwriter Rupam Islam revealed he has performed one song which has a very deep connection with the story line of the film.
Mir, who has also sung for the film, said it was a great experience to be a part of such a project which is very different from the other Bengali films and hopes their hard work will be approved by the audience.
The music was launched in the presence of the director Shiboprosad Mukherjee, producer Bachchu Biswas, actor Nigel Akkara, music directors Surojit Chatterjee and Joy Sarkar, the singers Lopamudra Mitra, Raghab Chatterjee, Mir, Jayati Chakraborty, Rupam Islam, and other crew members of the film.
Surojit, Lopamudra, Jayati and Rupam presented their songs Aalor Gaan, Aaloker ei Jhornadharay, Bohe Nirontor and Dour Dour respectively to the audience by performing live and making them experience the feel of the film.
The movie is being publicized and promoted in every part of Bengal and the directors are not ready to leave any stone unturned to make this film reach out to the audience. He is sure that all the efforts that are associated with the making of the film will not be wasted and Muktodhara will be liked by all. The music and the songs of the film are an integrated part of it and they define the different twists and turns the film goes through.
