Calcutta, July 16, 2012 (Washington Bangla Radio) The sparkly young multi-telented Bengali actress Ritabhari Chakraborty is barely out of her teens but has already become immensely popular for her acclaimed portrayal of Lolita in the Bangla TV serial "Ogo Bodhu Sundori". She spread her wings further with her spectacular live performances in Gautam Halder's "cine-play" (a combination of film and theater) Noshtoneer (Charulata).
Ritabhari is about to be seen on the silver screen in her first Bengali feature film "Tobu Boshonto" (2012) scheduled to be released in September of 2012. Her second feature film, "Prem Unlimited", went on floors recently.
We caught up with Ritabhari at the Shubho Mahurat (a traditional Indian religious ceremony marking the start of shooting for a film) where Ritabhari chats about her career, support of her illustrious family, her films and of course the character of Priya in Prem Unlimited which she essays opposite Joy played by another newcomer Tollywood hero Sagar Dutta.
Ritabhari has already won awards for her acting skills on Television. Daughter of National Award-winning poet, lyricist, film-maker, actress and social activist Satarupa Sanyal and internationally acclaimed film-maker and theater icon Utpalendu Chakrabarty, she is also a grand-daughter of acclaimed poet Prof. Tarun Sanyal.
Other than acting, Ritabhari is an accomplished writer, painter, singer and danseuse. She is also about to be seen in Zee Bangla's TV serial "Anupama", according to reports.
