Bengali actress SamikshaKolkata, June 2, 2012 (Washington Bangla Radio) Samiksha is the hot new Bengali actress in Tollywood whose debut film "Om Shanti" (2012) directed by Shatabdi Roy is doing well at the box office.

In "Om Shanti" the gorgeous Samiksha plays Bonna, a fun-loving bubbly and popular college student who loves to hang out with friends, sing and do innocent mischief like all girls her age. She is a darling of her mother and elder sister (Rituparna Sengupta) and her love for her boyfriend Arko (Pratik)is true and strong. In the film, Arko is an undercover cop.

Working with Rituparna Sengupta who plays her sister was like having Samiksha's own sister on the sets of Om Shanti. Samiksha describes Rituparna as a very down to earth and professional actress who made her feel very comfortable - at no time did Samiksha, a debutant, feel apprehensive about working with a super star of Bangla cinema.

In fact, Samiksha's experience of shooting for Om Shanti was like participating in her own home production. Senior members of the film unit like Rajesh Sharma, Shatabdi Roy, Rituparna Sengupta, Kharaj Mukherjee and so on were so friendly that Samiksha never felt uncomfortable as a newcomer. When faced with challenging scenes requiring portraying sadness or crying, Rituparna would nicely explain and guide her on how to perform.

Om Shanti is a commercial film which school and college students should find particularly appealing. We look forward to watching Samiksha in many more films in the future.
