The Club Presents Children’s Film Festival & Film Making Workshop in Mumbai

Mumbai, July 7, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio / pressreleasepoint) Working towards their endeavor towards Corporate Social Responsibility, The Club, Mumbai has organized a unique, week long, Children’s Film Festival from 18th July to 24th July 2011 at The Club, Mumbai, Andheri (w) as part of – Creative Arts, Creative Minds. Delightful, non-commercial children’s cinema will be brought before young audiences through carefully selected entertaining, interesting and ‘Moral’ driven films.

The Club will share this opportunity and invite children from the Asha Kiran Charitable Trust to the screening at the festival; an opportunity which would otherwise not be easily available. Asha Kiran runs 9 schools with 700 needy children across the streets of Mumbai.

Besides screening of the films, older children get a chance to make their own short documentary film under the guidance of Pomegranate Film Productions. The Film Making workshop will be conducted over 6 sessions and will cover topics like ideating, script & dialogue writing, filming and editing.

Mr. Dinesh Khanna, Director of The Club, Mumbai says, “Creative Arts, Creative Minds is an initiative and a platform to provide children aged 10-14 years an opportunity to explore creative talent & even consider it as a career choice. The film festival and the film making workshop is one of the first series and we are pleased to extend this privilege to the children of the Asha Kiran Charitable Trust.”

The workshop sessions will also be visited by film & television professionals like Monia Pinto, Siddharth Anand, Shekhar kapur, Parmeet Sethi, Sonali Bendre, Renuka Shahane, Mansi Roy, Suchitra Krishnamurthy and others who have willingly agreed to encourage and share their experiences with the children.
