Kolkata, July 16 (IBNS): The 88th edition of the travel show, TTF, kicked off in Kolkata on Saturday with a total of 250 exhibitors participating in the event. This year TTF Kolkata features over 250 exhibitors from 25 states and 11 countries, a growth of 15 percent in comparison to 2010. Cambodia and Nepal are the 'Feature Countries' along with Dubai, Thailand and China. Other countries that are represented in TTF Kolkata are Bhutan, Kenya, Malaysia, Turkey and the United Kingdom and India. The increase in the number of participants clearly indicates the growing importance of Kolkata as an outbound market, the organisers said. Uttarakhand is participating in the event as as 'Partner State'. Indian states like Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Jharkhand, Punjab, Orissa and Goa have good presence as 'Feature States' in the TTF Kolkata. The other states represented at TTF Kolkata include, Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. Besides state and national tourism organizations, TTF Kolkata also feature the participation of large number of hotels, resorts, travel agents, tour-operators, cruise-lines, railways, travel portals and publications. TTF Kolkata was inaugurated on July16 and will continue till July 18 at Netaji Indoor Stadium and Khudiram Anushilan Kendra of Kolkata. From Kolkata, TTF will move next to Ahmedabad, Surat and finally to Mumbai.
