Washington DC, June 8, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio) Satyajit Ray's 1969 classic Bengali film Aranyer Din Ratri  (Days and Nights in the Forest) has been released in DVD format in North America (USA and Canada). American, Indian-American and Non-resident Indians and Bengalis have welcomed this release, particularly since the DVD has been restored meticulously and with great care by German and American film lovers. The DVD has been digitally re-mastered in Germany and USA, and has subtitles in English.

A quartet of arrogant Calcutta bachelors (Soumitra Chatterjee, Subhendu Chatterjee, Samit Bhanja and Robi Ghosh) vacationing in a forest village plan to relax, get drunk and forget the city. But when they meet two local women, the urbanite friends soon learn they're not so sophisticated after all.
